APPLYING FOR COMMISSION
Please note: If you are unsure about any of the following, contact me and we can discuss each decision together and find the best for you.
Step 1: Find the photo you would like me to work on. In order to create the most accurate representation of your chosen animal, I would recommend selecting a photograph of the highest quality you can achieve as if the photo is blurred or taken in the dark for example, it is extremely hard to use for reference. In order to achieve the best possible photo, a photo taken with good lighting (this does not need to be outside, it can be taken in a well lit room) and high quality is all I will need to get started on your drawing.
Step 2: Select a medium. For my personalised portraits, I offer pencil drawings to really capture every detail. For my pencil drawings I use, Faber-Castell Polychromos which are top quality artist pencils. If specified, I can use other mediums such as acrylic and oil paint. However, to really capture the realistic qualities; pencil drawings are recommended.
Step 3: Choose your size. Currently I offer A3 and A4 on Bristol Board paper. This is a hot-pressed paper, meaning it is extremely smooth in order to allow the pencils to capture specific details effortlessly. I will also need to know whether you would like your portrait as either a landscape of portrait piece.
Step 4: Select a background. You do not need to have a background, as this will increase the price and each portrait done without a background is still extremely detailed and professional. Although, I can provide a wide range of backgrounds if this is what you would prefer. For more information on backgrounds, simply send across the photo of choice and we can discuss background options.
Once you have completed the application, I will email you requesting a photo, or you can email me straight away yourself with your chosen photo to megancookeart@gmail.com . After I have recieved all the information ready to start the drawing, a 50% deposit will be needed BEFORE I begin the drawing. The rest will then need to be paid in full before I send your drawing out for delivery.

Until a deposit is paid, you will not be added to the waiting list. I can tell you before how long the wait will be but with no deposit, this time may increase.
Deposits are non-refundable unless I am at fault or I am unable to complete the order.
Before I begin adding to the drawing or painting, I will send across a basic outline to demonstrate the scale of the drawing. At this point, if there are any changes required, please let me know sooner rather than later as it is extremely hard to alter once colour is added.
Please be aware that for whatever reason, I may not be able to complete chances or specific requests, I will try to the best of my ability, however if this is unattainable I will let you know.

The artist retains all copyright of the finished art.
The artist withholds the right to use images of the artwork for advertising artistic services both digitally through social media (facebook, instagram etc.) and through print (flyers, business cards etc.)
The artist withholds the right to use images on printed products such as cards, digital prints or other merchandise.
No copies of the finished artwork may be created by the customer, unless written permission is given from the artist.
